Frequently Asked Questions
What Age Is This Game Suitable For?
Ages 3 and up. Around 3 years old, kids develop the ability to participate in turn-taking games. Before this age, you could use the printable as a color-matching game for toddlers without the turn-taking aspect. Older kids love the drama of the game — making it a great activity if you have multiple kids of different ages.
What materials do I need To Set Up This Game?
A home printer, copy paper (cardstock recommended), scissors, laminator and sheets (optional), and something you can use as a game piece — like pom poms, figurines or even dried beans.
Are The Activities Appropriate for Early Learning?
Absolutely! They are aligned with supporting the healthy developmental needs of preschool children. As a cognitive psychologist, I investigate the data behind how children learn best. And I use that info to structure my activities so your child is learning in a developmentally appropriate way. Research shows that worksheets are not appropriate for Pre-K age kids. And my activities are anti-worksheets. My activities require kids to use their hands to manipulate them in order to complete the activity. They do not require kids to have any writing abilities (unlike most worksheets). And they would align with a structured play-based preschool program. Also, while not strictly Montessori-focused, they are Montessori aligned.
What Skills Does this Game Help My Child Develop?
Identifying emotions is the main focus of the game, but it goes so much further than that! As your child gets better at understanding their emotions, it leads to better self-regulation, better communication about their emotions (and less frustration). Additionally, the game helps your child practice numbers & counting (with the die), turn-taking and collaboration, frustration tolerance, and strategy. Not to mention, it’s a wonderful connection-building activity for your whole family.
Can I print and use this activity immediately after purchase?
Yes, your download will be available within seconds after your payment goes through. You’ll receive an email with a link to your download, and if you create an account, you can always access your files there. Downloads never expire and have no download limits.
Can this activity be used multiple times, or is it a one-time use?
Definitely reuse this preschool game over and over. You can always print multiple copies, but I recommend laminating for durability. I’ve designed many of the activities to be used in multiple ways and the materials to be interchangeable between activities.
Does the PDF provide clear instructions on how to use the activity?
Always! All of my printables include a Parent Guide and Printing Guide. With clear instructions on printing & setting up your activity, to how to engage with your child while you play.
Can This Activity Be Used For Homeschooling Or In A Classroom Setting?
Absolutely! Use it as an addition to your lessons to supplement your curriculum. Perfect for homeschool parents or teachers to use in classroom activities. This is the best preschool board game for a group activity in daycare too.
What are the terms of use?
For personal use only. Use it in 1 household or 1 classroom. No commercial usage and can not be resold.
